Irish vs. Purple Sea Moss
Sea Moss, no matter the color, has a mutual benefit of providing us with 92 of the 102 minerals that our body needs.
Purple, however, has phytonutrients in it and that's what gives it this color. The scientific name for this type of sea moss is Chondrus Crispus. Note that while purple sea moss clears the air passages, excretes mucus from the body, builds strong bones and joints like the Irish (blonde) sea moss does, the phytonutrients make it more effective on cleansing the blood and strengthening the heart. Keep in mind that diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure put a strain on the heart.
